The Department of Mechanical Engineering started in the year 2011, with an intake of 60 students. Mechanical Engineering is one of the major activities in the engineering profession and its principles are involved in the design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems. Continued research and development have led to better machines and processes helping the mankind.

The department Mechanical Engineering had an aim of imparting quality education in the field of Mechanical Engineering and bringing out efficient engineers. The department has huge area of laboratories, which Include Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machinery Laboratory, Production Technology Laboratory, Mechanics of Solids Laboratory, Metallurgy laboratory and Thermal Engineering Laboratory. All the laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated machinery. Engineering workshop for the basic first year students is well established to accommodate 60 students at a time with complete equipment. The faculty members are well qualified and highly experienced.
